IT TAKES A VILLAGE -- AND A TON OF GEAR.

Cameras: Main camera is the Sony EX-1. It's a full 1920x1080 HD, tapeless XDCam (it records on solid-state memory cards, immediately ready to edit). NTSC or PAL, 24p, 25p, 30p, 50i, 60i, overcrank (slo-mo), undercrank (fast motion) and timelapse. Second camera is a Sony Z1U (HDV) and backup is a Sony HD-1000 (HDV). Also a Panasonic AJ-D200 standard definition DVC-Pro, a Betacam 600, and for a reasonable additional charge, a Sony F900 HD-Cam. All with full lighting kits, dolly, jib, grip and electric.

Sound: In the field, it's all Tram, Sennheiser, and AKG lavs, Sennheiser shotgun mics, Lectrosonics, Sennheiser and Samson wireless transmitter / receivers, all going through Wendt or Sound Devices mixers. In the studio, it's AKG-414BL large diaphragm condensors, or classic Shure dynamic mics, with Mackie, Behringer or Yamaha 16 or 24-channel mixers, dbx comp/limiters, Lexicon reverb, BBE Sonic Maximizer and a comfortable booth for announcers. Mix, edit and complex sound design on ProTools, Sound Forge, Vegas and Sonar.  The Yamaha grand piano, Kurzweil 88 Keyboard, and a multitude of guitars, amps and miscellaneous instruments are always standing by.

Editing: Edit is on 1 of 3 Avid Media Composers, each with the latest software version. Effects and plug-ins include Sapphire, Boris, Magic Bullet, Colorista and Particle Illusion. 3D modeling is done in Ulead 3D Studio. HD projects are typically output as H.264 or DVC-ProHD files and uploaded to a server for broadcast, with the project never leaving the digital domain. Client playback copies are burned to Hi-Definition Blu-Ray Disc, and/or SD Widescreen or Letterbox DVDs.
